im doing a raspberry wheat now and from so many recipes ive read to add the fruit in the secondary.. my local brew store recommended that as well and stated i should have good success...

my question is.. how many pounds of raspberry? any suggestions?

the guy at the local brew store said 8 lbs.. does that seem like too much???

Randy Mosher suggests anywhere from .25-1 lb. of raspberries per gallon of beer (Radical Brewing)

I'd go with 4-5 lbs. If you need to add more fruit flavor you can always add more in a tertiary if you think you need it.

Good luck racking that ****. Fruit is a royal PITA!!!!!!!!!!!

Eight pounds is way too much, unless you like raspberry soda. I'd go with 2 pounds.

I've had good luck with 4-5 lbs. I've also had good luck putting them in the primary...
