Hello I made my first batch of American Amber Ale yesterday and had a OG of about 1.030 at ~78 degrees. That seems a little low and I'm wondering if there are gonna be any problems with that.

Extract? The gravity will be as advertised. Difficult to screw up.

It is difficult to fully mix the kettle wort with the added sugar and if the gravity sample is taken from the top, it will generally indicate low.

Don't worry, the yeast will find the sugar.

Please let us know-

What kind of American Amber Ale kit did you brew?

How much extract was included?

Did you get it all out of the container?

Sorry for the long response time. I used 6lbs of Pale Malt Extract along with 1lb of Crystal 45 and 4oz each of Chocolate and Aromatic grain. I also topped off my fermenter with a couple bottles of water which could have diluted the reading.
