what is the process called when you buy the kit that is just the can of prehopped exract and sugar? it that extract brewing or is there another name for it?

"Kit & kilo" brewing.

Yeah it's extract brewing, but 'extract' tends to cover a whole range of techniques of which this is the simplest!

cool so now i can go to the extract part of this webpage and learn a alot more!!!yes love the brewing!!

as the others have mentioned yes. extract. Check out the stickies at the top of the beginner section, not just the extract ones.

Welcome to the addiction... :mug:

Some have also called it "beer cool-aid",but I find that insulting. I use pre-hopped cooper's cans as a base in all my beers. I just add things to make them totally different. Works real well too.
