I pitched my starter at the 74F as recommended and then placed it in a room where I thought the temp wat a little closer to the fermentation temp of 65-69F. The starter actually stayed at about 74F for about 24Hrs. Is that okay? I'm sort of expecting a RDWHA-someting-something response here. It's just that it's my first starter and there is virtually no krausen which I know is not unusual. I may have just missed the fermentation. So, thanks for any answers and for putting up with paranoid noobs like myself. :drunk:

That temp is fine. As stated, you are propogating yeast, not making beer a this point.

Make sure to chill the starter and pour off the starter liquid before pitching the yeast.
