Hi, I'm new here and have a question. I just transfered my first batch of beer from my primary to my secondary. Now should I put it away from sunlight or is it ok? It is not directly into the sunlight, just normal day light.

I would keep it covered up with an old shirt or something, Im pretty sure beer can be skunked at any time by light.

t-shirt, blanket, whathave ya...I cover my carboys with a canvas tarp. IICR once the hops oils are isomerized in the boil, they can be skunked.

I use the cardboard boxes my better bottles get shipped with, they cover everything except a centimeter of trub.

+1 on the carboy boxes. If you extend and tape the flap edges together, you'll gain enough room to cover your carboy (or better bottle) with an airlock in place.
