My first ale brew is sitting around 73 -75 degrees in a room with indirect sunlight filling the room.

Should I work to get it cooler?

Should it be in a dark room?

Thank as always. You guys ROCK!

Yes. Assuming the yeast you used is common ale yeast. Or if it's lager, even more yes!

Check the yeast temp range and set you temp for the low end. As the yeast finish their job, you can gently raise the temp (because they will be making less heat themselves) and let them finish in the mid to high range.

Most Ale yeast are happy at around 62-68 (internal temp, not ambient temp)

You want the fermenting wort to be in the dark as much as possible. If you can't put it in a closet or dark basement, cover it with a garbage bag with a hole cut on top so the airlock can pop out....a lot of people do that.
