Hey,

Just letting anyone watching the previous thread know that I got an 80.0 efficiency, after a minor boilover, and including an excessive evaporation rate (55k BTU propane unit) that should have been at 27.7%/hr. I'll have to tune closer next time, but just saying that a $100 kettle/burner unit can do pretty decent with a homemade mash/lauter tun. Encouraging you all to go back to the grains, and have a merry and happy christmas.

Post boil, yeast & starter pitched into it as well. If I'd been smart I would have checked SG prior to the pitching, but I'll have to do some math, and that'll probably bump the SG higher as well, making an even better efficiency. There's always next batch though, so now I just get to wait a few days to put it in my secondary and dry hop it before I even need to worry about that.
