OK, quick question here. If I am stepping up a starter from say a pint to a quart, do I decant (once the yeast has settled) the original starter wort and add a quart of new wort, or do I add a pint of new wort to the old to make approximately 1 quart?

Thanks.

Decant the original wort. Then brew a quart size new starter. Add your previous yeast to the new starter. This is how I do it. It really could be done either way...but I prefer fresh wort.
