ok so I did the calculations and set the pressures left it for the right amount of time and bang!! It worked!! carbed beautifully....but I want to un hook it and start carbing another keg and just keep this one cold for now and let it sit... will it stay carbed?? and if so how long??

It will stay carbed indefinitely as long as you have no leaks and aren't dispensing.

What if I take it to my brothers place its like a 3 hour drive...if there is no leakes in my keg is it ready to go when i get there or should I let it settle for a while before dispensing??

I would let it settle as long as possible before tapping. This will allow all the yeast that got shaken to settle again, otherwise the whole keg will be cloudy. It'll taste fine, but appearance will be off.
