Just bottled the Northern Brewer Smashing Pumpkin tonight. OG was 60, when I moved to secondary (after 2 weeks) it was 16. Final gravity at bottling tonight (after 4 weeks in secondary) was 18. Is it possible to move back up the hydrometer like that? And what does that mean?

Nope. It means you had an issue when you measured the FG, my money would be a bubble on the hydrometer.

Ah, those pesky bubbles... Well, that was easy. And makes sense so those last two numbers were so close. Thanks!

Were the samples taken at different temperatures? That would also give a different reading. Regardless, it's so small a difference I wouldn't worry about it.
