Ovila Saison (Sierra Nevada)

Had one of these last night. One of my fav saisons so far. I recommend it

SN rarely puts out a beer I don't like. I had one of their big bottles of imperial hellesbock last weekend. I don't know how they get such a subtely flavored beer to 8.1% without hot alcohol flavors!

I will keep an eye out for the saison...thanks!

I have a bottle of the ovilla dubbel I am waiting to crack open. I am usually not a SN fan so we'll see...

I tasted this beer from their bright tank during a brewery tour following the Chico Homebrew Competition. It was spectacular! Really, this was my favorite beer that they poured. Sierra Nevada rocks!

That dude in the bottom left is giving you a hell of a look!

He can't be too mad. He is carying two bags of free hops and a beer. In fact everybody is carying bags of hops and beer....

I am pretty sure that is a paranoid look thinking you are going to jack his bags of free hops....

I really enjoyed this beer. SN is the ish.

Go to the Chico Homebrew Comp next year. The crew at SN gave us a 3-1/2 hour tour of the place. Hops, Beer, Hops, Beer, it just kept going. They really were good to us, and the Saison was my favorite beer of the tour.

Bought this tonight and was eager to pop it open,not the right night though, soon though shure its good i wasnt real impressed with the dubble,well see..

Post back after you try it. I tried the dubbel but can't really remember my thoughts on it, dangit. I keep telling myself I need to keep a beer journal with notes about beers I try.

Immediately, it reminded me of my homebrewed version of Domaine dupage french ale using s-33,but minus the big spice it had and mine was medium somewhat full-bodied,didnt get much complexity but the description otherwise is what it is, pretty decent glad i didnt pay the full 15 as i had a freebee on my beercard so i got it half price.Not buying another,im big on their seasonals and estate ale though. I also drank it while having a turkey avacado sandwich so maybe i screwed the paring up.

15 bucks? Wow, i think i paid around 9, no discount or anything.
