Has anyone else had trouble finding a steel keg to make a keggle out of? I have already gone to the three distributors who sell kegs, but only found aluminum kegs for sale. Im sure someone one this site had this experience, any suggestions on where I should look? Any brew companies you know of that only provide steel kegs? Thanks!

I always thought kegs were Stainless steel. They may look like aluminum on the outside due to the brushed finish, but they should be steel. I would think aluminum would be too soft for kegging beer in.

How do you know that they're aluminum? Magnets won't stick to SS kegs, it's a type of stainless steel that's not ferrous, if that's your test. AL kegs are extremely rare, simply because they aren't that durable; I'd be shocked if the ones you're finding aren't, in fact, SS.
