I'm headed for a long weekend at Daytona Beach. What's the best place to get GOOD local beer? I mainly prefer darker beers, but a good Berlinerweisse or a well-balanced IPA are OK too (don't like overly bitter beer...)

Been a few years since I was down there, and was not much in the way of craft beer bars or breweries then...lot of NASCAR/biker bars with the big beer brands. But there is both a Total Wine and an ABC liquor store, both of which usually have great beer selections. Total Wine has thousands of beers. You will find local stuff there.

I second going to Total Wine. I was in Florida just over a year ago and snagged these tasty Florida brews from Total Wine.

I've been told there are a few microbreweries in that area. Was hoping someone local was on the list. :)

Ormond Brewing Company Ormond Beach
Very small and quaint
ipa was good didnt care for cream ale much. Got a beer garden with a 5' tall jenga to play with. They were lining up food trucks and bands when I was there in January. Brewmaster will take ya to the brewery and tour it. Its not the easiest to find but seems to have a very friendly batch of regulars
