Roswell, NM is not in Iraq. On a windy summer day with 120* temps it feels like it could be, but it's not. The aliens have made quite a few people a nice living there, though.

Well, as seen on TV, the Science Channel and the History Channel both say that the cradle of Mankinds development was in the region of the Tigris and Eufrathes Rivers, and that plumbing, algebra, electric batteries, and beer were invented there, but we know that they didn't invent it, it was the aliens that brought those things here.
True, aliens came to Central America and India, too, but only Mesopotamia got the good stuff.

Earth was settled after a very similar planetary system was destroyed by the intelligent machines that they created. The few survivors of that planetary system were chased across the galaxy by those intelligent machines, eventually making a semi-stable peace with them. When Earth was discovered, the peoples of that planetary system settled in and mated with the primitive indigenous people of earth. Upon settling here, they refused all of the technology they were used to, hoping that would allow them to live without the threat of mass destruction. All of their technology was loaded into their spaceships and flown into the sun.
Of course, Man will eventually rediscover faster-than-light interplanetary travel, and the ability to create self-thinking machines, and already has the ability to destroy the planet, so it's only a matter of time...
