Hey Guys & Guyettes,
I need to calculate the length of a coil of 3/8" stainless tubing in an ice bath ~32F to 38F necessary to bring water down from 80F to ~ 50F. The flow rate is about 4gpm. Anyone have a formula or possibly 'splain it to me? Thanks - Dwain

Ya gonna agitate the ice bath and provide turbulent flow around the cooling coils? How thickis the tubing?

I got a few textbooks down the basement your'e welcome to...hah.

Short simple answer, 50' will work and vary the flow to suit your temp. needs.:mug:

My calculations indicate a length of 125 ft to be the optimum. I could be wrong though, so it would be best to get a second opinion.
