Critique my logo

Just made a first logo in Inkscape. Man, this program could become addictive.

So what tools and effects do I need to use to touch this up and give it a more professional look?

I'm clueless with Inkscape (as you can tell)

Vectors rock I think the globe is overpowering the rest of the logo. It's too bright. The mash paddle gets lost cause it's too dark. Maybe you just have too many elements. Simplify!

Darken the background a tad bit. Fade/darken the globe a little. Other than that I like it!

You have quite a bit going on with this piece. Logo's work best when they communicate a message in the simplest form. Think about what you want to say? Is it something that is different about you or what you brew?

Think Black and White first. Then add in color. That will help you be singular in your message...

Then again. If it's just for your own enjoyment. Do whatever the hell makes you happy. If you decide to make a business... then your logo is for your customers and the approach is different. Have fun with it and it will show.
