Hi guys,
I have a really big beer that i want to brew and I really do not want to mess this up. This beer is very big, very hoppy and somewhat arrogant. I want to use the Late Hop Addition to this brew.

Specifications:

IBU's: 65-69
OG: 1.081-1.085
ABV: 8.0-8.5%

I want to get as much flavor and aroma as i can from this brew. when should i add these hops

2 oz. Columbus Bittering Hops Alpha acid 14.4
1 oz. Columbus Aroma Hops Alpha acid 13.9
1 oz. Columbus Flavoring Hops Alpha acid 14.4

I know i should cut back on the Bittering Hops

thanks in advance

One ounce at 60min, 5min, 0min. That gives me some hop punch.

Columbus is pretty heavy. Real "dank" if you know what I mean...

You're gonna need about double those amounts to make a beer with that gravity hoppy. Here's what one of my late hop schedules looks like:

boil 30 mins 0.75 Columbus info pellet 14.2
boil 20 mins 1.0 Cascade info pellet 4.5
boil 15 mins 0.75 Chinook info pellet 10.8
boil 1 min 0.75 Chinook info pellet 10.8
boil 1 min 1.0 Cascade info pellet 4.5
boil 1 min 0.5 Columbus info pellet 14.2
dry hop 7 days 1.0 Simcoe info pellet 12.4
dry hop 7 days 0.5 Cascade info pellet 4.5

RC - good call. 3 oz of hops barely does for a 1.040 beer.
Sims - run this through one of the beer calculators to get a better idea of where you want to be.
