How long van you leave a starter siting without problems? I made 1 sat. In preperatopn for a brew today but i'm not going to be able to brew now until Wednesday...

You can easily leave a starter for a month. The viability decreases over time, but if you start with enough yeast that won't make a big difference. It won't 'go bad'. It will just be less viable. Good quality yeast lasts a long long time!

putting it in the fridge will make sure all the suspended yeast sticks to the bottom, so the remaining liquid in your starter will be easier to separate when you decant.

Decanting, if I'm not mistaken, is not entirely necessary, but it is useful for people who don't want to adulterate their beer with the "starter beer;" they only want to add the yeast slurry at the bottom.
