If you don't mind unthreading the MFL/Swivel barbs when changing back and forth these are cheapest:

If you just want to pop your ball lock QDs back and forth, you'd be better off with these:

I've gone both routes...

Started out with the MFL/Swivel barb thing, which got to be a pain in the butt. Picked up a set of QD's like Bobby lists second at NHC a couple years back, and never looked back.

Those install directly on your sanke adapted, and give you ball lock connectors on said adapter. Super convenient. (And I wish I'd gotten them as cheaply as Bobby's offering them!)

It doesn't look like it would - but neither would the MFL adapters you linked to. At least, not without adding some sort of adapter between the Sanke tap and the MFL or Ball Lock adapters.

Do you need the low profile adapter? What you need is a Sanke adapter with standard male threaded connectors for the gas and liquid connections, so you can change out what's connected there.

If you had to stay low profile, something like this might work (though it's not quite as low a clearance)

If the in/out barbs on there are 1/4" NPT then in theory you can go with the post adapters first and then thread the ball lock 19/32" gas and liquid posts right on.

I'm not married to that tap at all, I was just going for the Perlick brand. Is there a tap you'd recommend? I don't need low profile.

This is a good one - hard to go wrong with Micromatic. You may find a better deal on it somewhere other than Northernbrewer.

Bobby has an alternative here. Pretty hard to go wrong with most anything he carries too. ;) (Says the guy who just dropped a couple hundred bucks on fittings for his ebrew kettles - thanks Bobby, can't wait to install them!)

I just got your ball lock conversion kit and a sanke tap. The build quality is, like NASA grade- excellent, solid and (finally) working. My very minor complaints would be:

  • The gas coupler could use an extra gasket. I had one that fit, but needed two for a good leak-free fit.
  • Put a sticker on one of the posts, marking it as liquid or gas. I know the difference but a lot of people don't.
  • Instructions for how to hook up the tap with CO2. I've only used pumps for Sankes, so I assumed the liquid port was the bottom one. I'm a little wet, but I figured it out eventually.

Great stuff though! I'll absolutely recommend.
