I picked up a kit last weekend from my LHBS and crushed the grain in the store. I sealed it in the plastic bag and it has been sitting on my dining room table since. I am planning on brewing tomorrow and was just wondering how long already crushed grain will last for. I know whole grain has a longer shelf life but is 1 week too long for crushed grain?

I've used week old crush before with no apparent problems. Storing for several weeks or months probably wouldn't be a good idea though.

Remember the guys who order ingredients from the internet often receive grain that has been crushed for several days.

I ordered my kit online and it came with the the grains crushed. I didn't brew for at least another week after. I'm not worried about it as it'll probably turn out fine.
