i am about to brew a porter extract kit. i have 5 pounds of figs that i have been soaking in brandy for a couple months. i was going to add them towards the end of the boil in a grain bag to make for easier managing.
but after that... i was thinking about then freezing them after i take them out of the boil and then tossing the same figs into my secondary or my racking bucket.

any thoughts?

Well, here is what i wound up doing last night...
Followed regular kit instructions and added them in the last 5 of boil. Then this morning I pureed them and added the brandy (which I boiled in a pan for a bit to cook out the alcohol) and put the fig/brandy puree in the freezer. I am thinking I will add that puree to my bottling bucket when im ready to bottle...
