Hello all. In the next couple of months ill be jumping over to the all grain arena and was looking to the great beer forum for advice. I would like to slowly build a Brewing system (stand) while making my first few all grain batches. Can anyone recommend some reading material?

Do you want reading materials on AG brewing or do you want reading materials on how to build a system?

For AG,
How to Brew (buy it, the free online edition is great, but has been significantly updated) Designing Great Beers, Radical Brewing, Brew Like a Monk (BLAM is IMO one of the best researched and written style books out there, well worth owning if you ever want to brew a Belgian), and Yeast (haven't read it, but its the only book dedicated to understanding yeast for the homebrewer so if you have questions on that, a definite read).

For building a system:

Brew Ware (I haven't read it, but would probably put in the right direction). However, more than anything I would do some research on this forum to get an idea of what you want and then ask questions and folks will be more than happy to help you with your build.

Designing Great Beers has been a great source of knowledge, information, etc. It's collection of data, relative to the different styles of beers, has been very useful in my creating my own recipes. Really good stuff!

Thanks for the responses! I'm very excited about making the change. I know this might sound strange but I am just as excited about designing a Brewing system as I am about designing new recipes. So anything you guys see out there on the subject please let me know. Thanks again guys!

System building, I'd really scour over the DIY forum...wealth of knowledge!

Yeah, sounds like you will enjoy living in the DIY forum. I too enjoy the tinkering aspect of brewing almost as much as brewing itself.

I definitely will! Now my next decision is weather or not to sell all of my music equipment so that I can fund this little project ....
