So can I split my partial-mash recipe down the middle, spend all day brewing 2 batches, put 'em together, wait for them to cool then pitch the yeast? I'm tryin to go all grain but I need to wait for a new credit card to arrive so I can get a larger kettle :D

There's no reason why you can't do that. I would definitely keep the first "half batch" simmering until you can add the second half batch to it. That way it won't get infected with some nasties. But if you combine the half batches, chill it , and pitch the yeast, it should be pretty much the same as doing a full wort boil.

welp, I'ma have to do the damn thing today then. Thanks! Oh, and on a somewhat related note, to sparge a grain bag should I just slowly pour some boiling water into it? Or does the water have to be 'sprinkled' into it somehow?
