I am about to use my new march pump today and am wondering if i should put a ball valve on it.

If so, do i put it on the in or out side of the pump?

I am thinking out that way the pump is always full.

Thoughts?

You don't want or need a valve on the input. If you want to control the flow at all put it on your output
