Actually, they left out the best free alternative to Photoshop, IMO.
Check out The GIMP (http://www.gimp.org) which is free and open-source.
Same is true for Inkscape (http://www.inkscape.org), a free open source alternative to Illustrator.
If you can't already tell, I'm an avid Linux user Have been Windows and MS-free for over 5 years now.

Damn that made me laugh. Had IPA coming out of my nose (hops in nose are not good).
