Will this work for a pale ale? Im doing a variation on Ed's haus pale, and I only have dark dme for a starter, if I decant very carefully, will this be ok?

Your starter doesn't really have an impact on your brew, I always use wheat DME because I have so much sitting around.

I've used dark DME plenty of times, and it works fine. Like you said, it's a good idea to decant if you are pitching into a lighter beer.
