Hello All,
I am a fellow home brewing addict. I frequent several boards mostly as a lurker. I heard about this one from the Brewpastor at the NHC in Denver this past weekend. I have been addicted since the mid-eighties and brew 20 gallon batches on a junkyard system. I would love to play in your sand box for a while. I will lurk around and get a feel for the board but will contribute where I feel I can help or get help.
Thanks,
East Mountain Brewer

Welcome creepy lurker EMB!

Yes! If there's one thing we LOVE here it's pics... especially if they're of your SWMBO, but brewing systems will do...

Welcome aboard.

Just make sure your cat doesn’t follow you into the sand box. :D

We’ll be waiting to see some pic’s of your rig. What’s your favorite brew to brew?

Anyway, enjoy the company, watch out for sharp objects.

Lets see if I can make this work. Stainless Porn

What is it with you Hatch Heads and the industrial equipment?
Is there some sort of state program? If so, Bill Richardson for prez.

Sorry I didn't get to meet you in Denver.

OMG that's the ugliest setup I've ever seen....

No wait, I was looking at MINE when I wrote that. :drunk:

No wonder the good Pastor pointed you in our direction. Birds of a feather and all that.... :tank:

Awesome setup E.M.B. :rockin: Welcome to the asylum!

Thanks All,
This is a collection of several years of scrap yard hunting. I was able to score many sanke kegs that I made into Keggles and sold to pay for the TMS hopper, pump, fittings, welding and mill. In the end I actually made money building this rig. Although it makes 20 gallons, the day is longer than with my old keggle system and it doesn't make better or worse beer, just more. With two youngsters, my brew days are spread further apart so I have to make more to keep the taps flowing.

NM does not have a state program (lol) but some great scrap dealers with meth/crack heads keeping them well stocked. I know several folks making great beer in plastic systems so a system never makes a brewer/beer better.

I try to keep an IPA on at all times and then mostly speciality Belgians to suppliment with a couple batches of lager in the colder months.

Cheers,
EMB

Welcome!

Finally we are getting some locals on this site. Great pictures of a beautiful system.

When you get to the boarder with your moving van they will make sure you have something to brew with AND that meets our standards before they will let you in.

Wow, that is some system! :D Welcome aboard! I'm sure that with 20 years of brewing, you'll be able to add some insight to our group here!

Brewpastor can't even tell us how to brew a wheat beer...:D

Hey fellas!

Glad to see there are some others brewing locally. I am still terribly wet behind the ears and just did my first AG batch with a cobbled together cooler system (nothing like the Los Alamos Project Discards that East Mountain has there!). Anyway, I was wondering if anyone here in town ever gets together to brew. I would really like to watch and learn how really experienced brewers do things. Does this happen often, or at all?

Greg,
There is a club in Albuquerque that meets at the Chama River Brewing company on the first Tuesday of every month (check out NMBEER.org). There are several folks that invite others to brew sessions. Also if you sign up for the Yahoo group "NMBREWERS", there are occasional messages with invites.
Cheers,
EMB
