Belgian Special B

I would like a red cast to my barleywine (scheduled for 3 wks from today). I was thinking about putting a # or 2 of Belgian Special B for color.

Anyone with experience with this? I am shooting for 10-15 SRM, but reddish.

I don't think special b will impart a reddish hue...I've used it several times and never noticed.

This is what I use in my version of Yooper's dead guy clone...it's pretty red.

13oz Belgiun Cara-Munich
13oz German Munich
7oz US Crystal 40 deg L

WAY too much, unless you like plum. Victory and Biscuit are better for reddish.

Sounds like a job for a couple ounces of Carafa Dehusked.
