What exactly does 'Thermal Mass' mean? When entering information into promash it's asks what the thermal mass is of my mash tun... What is it, and where do I obtain that information?
 
Thermal mass is quite a bit more complicated than weight. It's basically a measurement of your rig's ability to resist changes in temperature. Different types of materials have different specific heat capacities, and likewise different setups will have different effective thermal masses.

I don't know much about promash, but this blog post seems to suggest a method for calibrating your system.
 
In lay man terms it is asking how much heat your mash tun is going to absorb from the water you put into it before it can normalize and insulate to maintain the desired temp.
