Keggle arrived, everything's good.

The only thing I added to the valve/bulkhead assembly was a brass washer between the o-ring outside the keggle and the fitting that the valve screws onto. It seemed like the fitting was going to tear into the o-ring pretty easily. With large washers inside and out next to the o-rings, it was much easier to really tighten that baby up--no leaks.

I outfitted it last night with a copper siphon tube, which attaches to a comperssion-to-FPT adapter which screws into the bulkhead fitting. I rigged up a toilet supply line screen: I'm going to try that and see if hops clog it--if they do, I have some other cheap-bastard filter screen ideas.

It drains all but about 2 oz of fluid out of the keggle: pretty cool.

It's a 3/8 inch ball valve, which I can see that I will probably want to upgrade to 1/2 inch at some point. But everything's good for now.

Now I just need to re-engineer my wort chiller a little to fit iin there and extend out the top, and I'll be good to go.

BeeGee, you can send that grain any time :D

Oddly enough, I ordered a bazooka t-screen ($18) and bulkhead fitting ($15) from NB last night. After spending a little time at HD this seemed like the most expedient route for me. I've got a ballvalve and nipple as well as a little copper pipe laying around to fashion the rest.

I rolled my own for my coolertun which was easy enough, but I'm a little concerned about the additional impact of boiling wort.

Edit...grain's in the mail ;)
