The wife and I had 3 cans of Mr. Beer cider left over from our first ventures into homebrewing, so we decided to go ahead and knock them out. I decided to more or less improvise, since I won't ever brew Mr. Beer cider again.

3 cans Mr. Beer cider
4 1/2 cups brown sugar
Made a dry yeast starter about an hour before pitching
5 gallons, OG 1.030
Might throw in some honey or cinnamon when we go to secondary
Ideas or suggestions?

when I ferment juice I muchly enjoy a cinnamon stick in the secondary - lends an understated character that you can just tease out before you get blitzed :D

Hopefully not derailing your thread, but if I may - what led you away from mr. beer cider? I have one that I use for beer (philistine, I know) and have wondered at times why I haven't tried their cider kit.
