Funny keg with rubber top/bottom: help!

if you can get the rubber off of it and cut the top out, I don't see why it wouldn't work as a kettle

how big is it? The pics you linked to make it look kind of small.
 
You wouldn't have to remove the rubber parts to use it as a mash tun would you? Could you cut out the top like a usual Sanke? I'm just guessing but I think an angle grinder with a disk would cut through the rubber and stainless. Something to think about anyways.
