It is hard to justify the price of the bottles at the local place when they aren't that much more expensive with beer in them. You see the thread about the Costco house brand?

When I was packaging beer in 22 oz bottles, I purchased them from Ryco Packaging in Denver. There was a minimum of 5 pallets. That was roughly 2500 bottles. Double that for 12 oz.

Manufacturers are Ball-Foster Glass Container and California Glass. When you are ready to buy a couple of container loads at a crack, you can get your own design, like New Belgium.

Crosby & Baker and the other homebrew store distributors also sell them with a lower minimum but higher cost.

Thanks Wayne1.... thats what I was looking for.

By the way.. if you don't mind what was 2500 bottle costing you?

The last time I bought bulk bottles was 20 years ago. I am sure the market and even some of the players have changed.

I suggest you familiarize yourself with who is who in packaging today.

A good first step is to look at ProBrewer.com

Here is a link to the results of a search on Packaging: bottles, crown cap.

You might have to use up some minutes on your calling plan. Most of the suppliers listed do not show e-mail addresses.

A publication you should not be without is the http://www.brewersassociation.org/pages/publications/brewers-resource-directory

You may also want to think about attending the Craft Brewers Conference http://www.brewersassociation.org/pages/events/calendar/show?title=craft-brewers-conference-2010
in Chicago in April. There is a trade show that goes along with it where you can meet with most of the suppliers in the brewing industry. Good luck.
