I brewed my first beer last weekend.....I was wondering if it hurts to wait longer than 7 days to bottle the beer after its been fermenting that long. I need to leave town unexpectedly and I will not be able to bottle until the 10th day that the beer has been in the fermenter. any ideas on that? Thanks MM

Actually, if you are not doing a secondary fermentation, I would leave the beer at least two weeks in the primary before even considering bottling.

So, you should be just fine! :mug:

And I'll second that. NEVER bottle until you are sure that all fermentation has finished.
You could end up with possible bottle bombs.:mug:
