I've recently been force carbing at 30 psi for about 36 hours with good results. If I leave the liquid line connected to the keg during this 36 hours am I going to ruin or shorten the life of the taps? (I guess it's good practice to keep it disconnected, but just curious...)

No, the taps can take as much pressure as the kegs. I've had soda water on tap at 35 psi for five years without a problem.
