I was just wondering if anyone has tried using steel cut oats in a stout instead of rolled oats?

i was thinking about boiling them for about thirty minutes or so then add it to the mash.

I might try to make two stouts one with steel cut, and one with rolled or flaked oats. See if there is any difference between the two.

I've used both and never noticed a difference (aside from the little bit of extra work required). But don't let that stop you from making twice as much stout. :mug:

I'll try both ways, probably wont make much difference. As long as the beer comes out drinkable I will be happy:D
