Furious Freezer Fermentation

Two oatmeal stouts and a Frankenbeer (mix of kettle leavins from the stout and a friend's porter) ferment madly in my chest freezer.

Of note, the Frankenbeer is fermenting in a Utz pretzel canister. #1 PET like Better Bottles. Perfect for a little batch like this.

I could not imagine having that much dark beer in stock, lol.

I'll bet it smells fantastic though!

How cold do you have it in there??? Do you have an external thermostat??

The temp controller is set to 63F. The thermometers on the carboys read 66-67F.

That is beautiful. It brings a tear to my eye. There is nothing in the world better than fermentation. Well, except beer.

Of course- I have nothing in primary. Nothing in secondary. No brewing until March at the earliest. I have nothing to live for, except to hang out here and look at photos of other peoples beer.

I'm a sad, sad case, I guess.

Did the pretzel smell/taste affect the beer at all?

Metal: I haven't measured, but I think about 2 gallons. I haven't tasted yet, but there was no leftover pretzel smell in it before I filled, so I don't expect any issues.
