Love controller temp probe wiring help (3wire vs 2 wire)

I posted this in the DIY section over the weekend, but I'm hoping this section has more traffic...

I have a Love TS-13010 on my brutus system and i need to replace the temperature probe due to the cable getting a little too close to the burner. I ordered on from brewers hardware to replace the one that got burnerd (also purchased from them), but the new one has 3 wires. The original one had 2 wires. The love TS-13010 only has a place for 2 wires. I tried connecting it only using two of the wires, but it doesn't work. Does anyone know how to make this work or do I just need to order a new probe? It seems as though all the brewers hardware probes are 3 wires now.

Do you have a circuit tester? I'm guessing that you have a common, normally open and normally closed. What color is the wire.

I don't have a tester. The wires i have are red, black, and white. My previous probe (and the one in the other love controller) had only black and red.

I got a response from brewers hardware. The red wire is not used, it the white and black. Thanks.
