Mixed up my first mead tonight. 16 pounds honey to 4.5 gallons spring water. I just pitched the yeast (D-47) and then I remembered that I needed to add energizer and nutrient, but for the life of me I can't find the stuff I bought like a month ago.
So I'll have to swing by the LHBS on the way home tomorrow night and get some more.
Do you think this will be a problem? 24 hours after pitch then add the energizer and nutrient? Should I also plan to pitch more yeast?
Man I feel like I did with my first beer. lol

If you can add the nutrients & DAP within 24 hrs of active fermentation (positive airlock bubble displacement), it should not be a problem; and, there's no need to pitch more yeast.

Dont worry tomorrow will be fine for the stuff, Ive even done a mead or 2 without the stuff and they taste fine. And they fermented without a problem.
