I have purchased it and used it but is there a cheaper version available? What is the stuff made of?

Thanks,
Jennifer

I believe that wine conditioner is a sugar syrup with potassium sorbate in it. That way, you can sweeten the wine and prevent refermentation.

I think it'd be cheaper to add the sorbate (2/3 tsp per gallon) with campden tablets (one crushed per gallon) yourself, then sweeten to taste with a heavy syrup or honey, etc.
