I like Belhaven Scottish Ale (Export 80/-) a lot. So much I made a clone kit. I've tried their St. Andrews Ale and Twisted Thistle IPA, and I have a Wee Heavy in the fridge. They all have a little bit of sourness that I find really interesting and refreshing. My AHS Belhaven has just a touch of it, but the only thing it could come from is the 2oz peated malt.... I have to wonder, does Belhaven use a sour mash to get that great character?

Re: Twisted Thistle, pretty awesome to have a touch of sour in an otherwise mellow IPA...
