Taste tested a bottle after one week of sitting in my closet, taste good but has a small rubbing alcohol smell, closest thing I can compare it to, but over all it was clear and taste good. Think fermenting temp got to 80 one day. Would the fermenting temp getting high cause this?

Absolutely!
70F is the high end for ale fermentation. You can put your fv in a cooler with water and interchange ice packs to keep it cool.
The beer is also still fairly young. Give it time and it might get better.

This is just one example of some good resources for off flavors.

Plan on giving it more time to condition, just tried one just for the hell of it. Got frozen bottles around my 5 gal bucket and its keeping it at72, guess I will add another and see where temp goes to, thanks
