to dry hop or not to dryhop? Been awhile since I've had one of these but I do not recall a strong hop aroma but then again it is a "India brown ale" so unless I hear different, it gets dryhopped.

Thanks
Alan

Where did you get a clone recipe for this beer? Can you post it? I'm drinking one now and would love to try making a batch.

Thanks for any help!

I kind of adapted it a bit and just tapped the first two pints tonight. Not Terrpin but it is still green and it is similiar though mine is higher ABV. Only been on the gas for a week. I think this one is going to be really good. Only real difference I notice so far is the mouthfeel is not quite the same and IMO the original has more of a roasted barly/chocolate taste though I would not add much.

Here's what I did:

10.5# Briess 2 row
1.5# Victory
1# Munich
1# Crystal 120L
.75# Belgian Biscuit
.33# Chocolate malt

Hops are more what I had on hand than complete accuracy here.

1oz. Magnum 13.1%AA 60m pellet
.5oz. Cenntenial 8.5%AA 30m pellet
1oz. Kent Golding 4.2%AA 20m (Whole)
1oz. Fuggles 4.6%AA 10m pellet
1oz. Cascade 5%AA 1m pellet

1 oz Cascade dryhop

Mashed w/ 1.25 quarts/gal local tap water at 153F

Good Luck and maybe we can compare results but you better hurry because this one won't last.

This stuff gets better by the day. Absolutely a great beer. I think I may do a repeat on this one istead of what I had planned next.

Alan

I've been working on a clone of this wonderful beer for a while. While my beer isn't a clone, it is a good beer. I have based my recipe off of the Hop Karma and after three iterations came away with a 43 point (gold medal winning) beer. Here is what I brewed, using Wyeast American ale II, since that is the terrapin house yeast.
