Over the weekend, I went to the Washington Brewfest in Redmond and tried Black Raven's Bourbon Barrel Aged Scotch Ale. It's their normal scotch ale aged 6 months in bourbon barrels. It was the best beer I've ever tasted in my life!
I want to clone it now. Anyone ever made this beer particularly? Or aged a beer in a barrel? Would I get any benefit from wood chips versus a real barrel?
