I have a strong body
But a heartbeat naught
I have a sound head
But no thoughts to be thought

I come from an island
Oh, so far away
Yet right by your side
On a warm sunny day

I have no legs
Yet jump like a flea
I'll sing you a song
Though it comes not from me

The song I think comes from
Sunshine on my shoulder
Made him happy. I don't think him from Bolder
The sun, the sun is truly the answer
At least that's what my dog said, his name is Dasher
[emoji3]

Pardons for intruding, but this belongs here instead of the joke thread:

To what five letter word can you add two letters and make it shorter?

I like the brain-teasers. Like:

You're driving a bus. There are twenty stops. By the first four stops, 14 people have been let off and 22 got on. By the next four stops, 27 people have been let off, and 15 more got on. The next four, the count is 9 off, 9 on. The next four, 18 left off and 15 got on. By the last four stops, 35 left off and only 7 got on.

How old is the bus driver?

(Of course, this works better in a speaking situation...)

:)

Good try, my friend
But try once more
For the sun is not what I'm looking for

The answer is within your grasp
Quite true
For I wrote this riddle just for you

A boon I will offer
In way of a hint
It comes from where you're a resident

Ok, I'll give this one a go once again
An inanimate object I believe still my friend
Strong body and head made for sound
The tempo quite quick, notes jostling up and down
From Hawaii and by your side on a warm summers day
Eating poke, drinking Heineken, playing the ukulele!!

Nailed it, nailer!
As they say
No better friend
On a warm summer's day

Intrigued by the uke
Thought I'd give it a whirl
Here's a picture
Of my baby girl

Surprised I'm not
To see in good time
Gila babble
Babbled in rhyme

But what can we do
Asshokes are asshokes
Smirking and trolling
And making bad jokes

Easy one :)

Sealed up, I'm as fine as can be.
Open me up and I'm a gloop almost instantly.
And this I must confess,
I do like to make a big mess.
Even though you curse and swear,
you'd miss me if I was not to appear.
I'm a substitute but not really a fake,
I get you started for what you want to make.

What am I?

It took me a while
But after some thought
I believe I have the answer sought

I wouldn't be here
Were it not for thee
My dear old friend
Mr. LME

Your answer is good I can tell,
but not quite correct you see.
I believe you just need revise on how to spell,
to the answer that I seek, DME :)

Really though, could apply just as well to LME, so I'll give you that :)

This is the riddle for the answer I seek
If it is solved quickly, I will turn meek
For it is your brain I want to tweak
Asking "Why is the number 8549176320 so unique?"

The answer would be,
that the digits are sorted alphabetically.

Three switches in the basement there be,
that controls the three lighbulbs upstairs, see?
To find which is which,
which bulb is controlled by what switch,
but once you'd need to climb the stairs. How, tell me?

Alphaomega the beginning and end
Cool nickname, handle; really groovy my friend
The riddle you post is a dynamic brain tweaker
This needs a little time to digest like yeast in a beaker
I am not a mathematician nor a magician
But do suspect this isn't high math
This riddle is solved with two paths
With one trip up the stairs and prior tasks
But I don't have the answer, if anyone asks

(I think)

LRB, you out there?

I tell you it can be done and without no cheat.
It ain't easy, I'll give you that.
So I'll give you a clue, think of heat.
@Fedora , enjoy your hat :)

With that clue this hard riddle is soon on the fiddle
Please someone answer it in rhyming fun
Alphaomega's hint was enough to get''er done
As always on this riddle thread
Questions and answers are intriguingly said
Please somebody answer this riddle rhyme
I know it put my mind in overdrive
Riddle me this and riddle me that
I do have a two dogs and a chestier cat

the answer to this one I believe I finally got.
from the basement turn two switches to on, then several minutes later turn one off
run up the stairs, and feel the bulbs that are dark and (assuming these are incandescent) the one that you flipped twice is the one that is dark but still hot.

Bing, bing, bing!
And we have a winner!
That is just how to do this thing.
@Fedora , what's for dinner?

Now @DrunkleJon , I guess you're next.
Since you light to my riddle of darkness shed,
you must in turn make us perplexed,
and present a new riddle to this thread

Lets see how this rhymes.

On death row are you, a chance at a pardon relies on your wit.
In front of you is placed a bag of 100 stones half black, half white and two empty bowls.
Your job is to place all the stones in the bowls your choice of the split
Next blindfolded you will be and one stone you will choose from one random bowl
Free you go should white you choose, if it falls on black you die.
How do you distribute the stones to give you the best chance from death to fly?

A single white pebble would give thee,
a 50% chance of instant liberty.
On the other hand, a 49 outta 99 ain't bad
For the second bowl, these are the best odds to be had.
All in all, freedom with almost 75% certainty.

Well done, you answered true,
Next question looks to be back to you.

What might it be that you can put upon your feet,
that you may sleep upon during night or day,
and that you could use for a seat.
What could it be? Do you dare say?

and present a new riddle to this thread

Though a questionable method
And not quite a cheat
I'm true to my word
And my hat I'll eat

This little piece
I won't have to chew
Bon appetite
And a big FU

@Fedora , you found the solution questionable (I did not),
but still you kept your word, I respect that a lot!
Now, i wish that I could say you'd like my last riddle better, but alas
the answer to that one shows little more in the way of class

Dan can't rhyme
So no riddle tonight
Just as well
I'm not thinking quite right

Could be the stress
Or maybe the drink
But if I'm honest
I truly think

It's not in my head
Or by power of suggestion
It's a bona fide case of indigestion

Slainte, riddlers!

Kenny

I'll probably get this answer wrong
But that's ok this is my song
The answer I think you're looking for
Everybody has one and it is a floor
[emoji1]

I know I probably got the last riddle wrong.
So came up with a distraction while smoking my bong (not really,)
AlphaOmega and Fedora are tough riddling riddling Kings
And the truth be known that makes my heart sing

So here is a riddle while you ponder
With My bad rhyming and jhyming
Plus pretty poor timing [emoji4]

So tell me my main course tonight
To get this right is outta sight
Everything on the plate was really good
All great fixings is just understood
Know carnivorous lovers love this quite well

@Dan that was a very good attempt,
that I think made some sense.
I'm afraid the answer will fill you with contempt
and make you think I'm more than a little dense.
The riddle will make you C,
that the answer to A is not B.
(If you get me...)

Edit: Oh, yeah and burgers?

I love this thread most when I cant figure the answer (not true)
Even with my dog's help who you all know as Prancer
So play on, play on; make the riddles tough
AlphaOmega my mindS not big enough
To answer your latest riddle even with hints
I'm a dim witted man but sometimes have glints

Is a rhyme riddling mind a land mine?
Why must I riddle rhyme reason
Twiddled mind and mysterious rhymes
I once loved a girl from Sweden

(I didn't come up with this next riddle but figured it out, I think. You will too, take your time, have a drink. If anybody figures out what the first two lines of the first stanza means; tell me brother) - cause I don't know

When the Hanging Gardens of Babel grew,
I read the heavens for what it knew
to gesture a thing that can't be seen,
with rigid arm and hand so keen.

I have a marked and telling face,
and never rush - I keep my pace.
I'm shy of clouds at the dead of night,
otherwise faced true North I'm always right.

Now given gears I never sleep,
and two more arms are mine to keep.
Sixty to one they each will race,
but twice a day they all embrace.
