I double my keezer (when out of beer) as a temperature controlled fermenter. Living in Arizona, this works out pretty well as ambient temps are typically too high and I don't like the wet towel in a tub of ice water technique.
This time, I'm fermenting two 5 gallon beers with great activity. Both ended up blowing krausen through the airlock. I took a towel and put it around the buckets to catch the mess until I had a chance to transfer to secondary about 4 days later.
When I went to transfer, I noticed all my brass fittings and my CO2 regulator beginning to show noticable signs of corrosion. It kinda freeked me out. I am not sure if my regulator is now compromised or if this is normal. I've been fermenting different batches for over a year like this now and have never had this problem before.
Has this happened to anyone before?
