Hey guys what's up. I just posted in the beginners brewing that I brewed my first batch! Well so far all is going well, good steady fermentation going on.
I have a question though. Right now I have my air conditioner on 65 degrees, and it's only cooling my beer to 77. It hasn't passed 80 yet, but I still feel a bit worried. I can't run this air conditioner for 6 weeks at 65 degrees, or I'd be giving myself a hefty electric bill. I live in Louisiana, so it's getting hot right now.
Well the good thing is I bought a new refrigerator, and I have my old one on the front porch. I bleached cleaned the old one, put an indoor/outdoor thermometer in there, and even on the warmest temperature setting, it's at 46 degrees right now.
I guess my last option now is investing in a thermostat to keep these temperatures under control. What is a good thermostat to invest in? I remember seeing some pictures of a thermostat with a red digital display on the temperature. What is the links for some commonly used thermostats for brewing? I saw the ones on Midwest Supplies website too. Thanks!
