I've been making extract brews for a while now and I'm ready to attempt me first partial mash. My expectation is that I will see a big improvement by switching to PM. However, one of the challenges I've been facing is that when it is hot outside my basement is heating up to 80 degress, and that is the coolest place in the house. This is much warmer then I'd like to be fermenting at. With all that said this is the question: I've got about $150. Should I buy a mini fridge so that I can control the temp of my fermentation? or should I not worry so much about the temp and buy a turkey fryer so that I can move outside and do a bigger boil?

Looking forward to your opinions.

Temp control!!!!!!

EDIT: Get the fridge on craigslist and the turkey fryer from Wally World and do both for $150 (easy).

3-4 pounds of grain would require, at most, a 2.5 gallon boil.

So, get the controller.
