Thinking of making a kit wine for an anniversary, with the idea to age it and open 2 of the 30 bottles each year for the next 15 years. Ideally it will get better with age, but if it peaks early I guess that's ok so long as I don't have to pour any out down the road.

I would plan to get the most expensive Cabernet kit I could find, as I understand that there's a very strong correlation between price and kit quality. Same with corks.

Will this work? Any special considerations? Should I get a dedicated fridge for this or will the corner of basement be ok?

Perhaps a kit every 5 years would be more realistic? You could make the same (or similar) kit every five years and share the bottles on birthdays, holidays, anniversaries, and the occasional date night?
