Finally getting around to building a 10 gallon MLT, the five gallon is getting too small. Went to do Pol's "stopper thermometer" mod, and can't find my new stopper. Do'h!
Went a head and made a round foam "float" for the cooler to help hold the temperature, when it occurred to me, why not just stick the probe thermometer through the foam?
Since the foam float will be on top of the mash, it can take the temperature on top. I will add a thermometer toward the bottom of the cooler later, when I locate the elusive stopper.
Will it give me better temperature readings? I wonder what the difference between them will be?
